What I have discovered

So prop 215 was passed nearly 20 years ago and there is still a tremendous amount of confusion on the part of growers and law enforcement regarding cultivating medical marijuana.

BTW, this blog isn't about how to grow.  There's plenty of information on the internet that can explain that part(ICMAG is a great place to start).

In broad strokes the following is what you need to be in compliance in the City of Oakland.  I'll cover each requirement in more detail and reference where the requirement comes from further down the page.

1. A current recommendation from a doctor to use medical marijuana.
2. A state Medical Marijuana Identification Card as a patient or caregiver.
3. No more than 72 plants per patient.
4. No more than 32 square feet of growing space per patient
5. No more than 3 patients worth(so a total of 216 plants and 96 square feet of growing area).
6. No outward signs from a public right of way that cultivation is taking placing.
7. In compliance with all building codes and electrical codes.
8. No extension cords carrying more than 6 amps.
9. No butane used for processing.
